NHS reaches Fiscal Year '05 goals Neighborhood Housing Services has reached its aggressive homeownership service goals for Fiscal Year 2005, a period that ends today. NHS provided homebuyer orientation for 837 families, gave free homebuyer education workshops to 487 families, and assisted 125 families in achieving homeownership. These numbers represent a 20% increase in orientation participants from FY2004, a 52% increase in homebuyer education graduates, and an impressive 78% increase in new homeowners. These are significant jumps in production in a market where the median home price has risen over 30% in the past year while income levels have remained stagnant. Money Smart class in Spanish NHS will conduct a FDIC-sponsored Money Smart class in Spanish on Sat. July 23. The class will take place at the NHS office from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Money Smart is a training program to help adults with little banking experience to enhance their money skills. The more people know about credit and banking services, the more likely they are to increase savings, buy homes, and improve their financial health and well being. Please contact Gisselle at 305-751-5511 or gisselles@mdnhs.org for more information or to RSVP. Job opening: Loan Processor NHS is now accepting résumés for the position of Loan Processor.
