Building vibrant communities through homeownership and neighborhood revitalization defines the heartbeat and life force of Neighborhood Housing Services (NHS). Story after story illustrates that Neighborhood Housing Services continually “gets the job done” professionally and in real-time.  Homeowners like single-mother Emilean Harrell and young professional Omauri Marksman know that for a fact. With the help of NHS, their dream of homeownership became a reality in 2007. As NHS celebrates its 30th anniversary at our annual meeting, we invite you to make a significant contribution.

Unable to afford painting their homes or landscaping their properties, NHS and a local “army” of volunteers revitalized the homes of Brownsville seniors Jimmie and Margie Harper and Willie Robinson. A part of NHS’ NeighborWorks® Week in June of 2007, NHS galvanized forces to fundraise for the entire event, including all paint and landscaping supplies and breakfast and lunch for over 100 people.

Thanks to sponsors and donors like you, NHS remains a catalyst for empowering lives, making dreams come true, and fueling communities through homeownership and neighborhood revitalization.

This year we are combining two major events in our request for sponsorships or donations:

National NeighborWorksÒ Week Paint and Landscape Day - Saturday, June 14, 2008

30th Anniversary-Annual Meeting - Wednesday, October 22, 2008

As you plan your budget this year, we ask that you make a commitment to NHS that would cover both NeighborWorksÒ Week and celebration of the year’s accomplishments and future plans at our 30th anniversary-annual meeting to take place on October 22nd.  While there are many worthy organizations, please consider becoming the economic life force that has already turned around the lives of Emilean, Omauri, Jimmy & Margie, and Willie.

Besides the personal satisfaction of directly helping people who are in great need, you or your business may receive recognition in press releases, our e-newsletter that goes out to over 600 people, on event programs, and on our website.

Sponsorship opportunities for both events are listed under this letter.
